An Embraer 170 operated by Shuttle America on a Delta Connection service overran the runway and struck a fence after landing at Cleveland Hopkins airport on 18 February. This is one of the first serious incidents involving the regional twinjet in airline service. The aircraft (N862RW) is understood to have been operating a flight from Delta Air Lines' Atlanta hub with 70 passengers and four crew on board - none of whom were injured. After failing to stop on the runway, the E-170 is believed to have struck a localiser antenna and then collided with the airport's perimeter fence, where it came to rest. Weather data showed heavy snow conditions.
