Delta Connection has placed orders for an additional 45 regional jets for its short-term expansion. The regional carrier has ordered 32 Bombardier CRJ200s and 13 Embraer ERJ-145 family aircraft, in deals worth an estimated $1 billion. Atlantic Southeast Airlines (ASA) will receive 25 CRJs from the order, while SkyWest Airlines will get the remaining seven. Chautauqua Airlines will accept the 13 ERJs in 2004 and 2005, bringing Chautauqua's Delta Connection flying to 45 regional jets. ASA and SkyWest will begin to take delivery of the new CRJ200s in the first quarter of 2005.
