Delta Air Lines continues its expansion at Seattle Tacoma International airport, announcing plans to launch flights from Seattle to five new destinations next year.
The Atlanta-based carrier will begin four-times daily service between Seattle and both Sacramento and Boise on 4 May, and will begin flights between Seattle and Ketchikan and Sitka, both in Alaska, on 15 May.
The Alaska routes will operate once daily during the summer season, Delta says.
Then on 4 June Delta will begin flying five-times daily between Seattle and Denver.
Delta regional partner SkyWest Airlines will operate the Boise, Ketchikan and Sitka routes, while Compass Airlines will operate the Denver flights, says Delta.
Both regional carriers will fly for Delta between Seattle and Sacramento.
In addition, Delta says it will increase its number of flights from Seattle to Anchorage, Atlanta, Calgary, Detroit, Los Angeles, San Francisco and Salt Lake City.
The expansion continues what has been a steady build up by Delta at Seattle, where the carrier competes primarily against Seattle-based Alaska Airlines.
Alaska already serves all five of Delta's new routes. Delta will also face competition from Southwest Airlines on the Sacramento route, and from Southwest, United Airlines and Frontier Airlines on the Denver route, according to Flightmaps Analytics.
Delta's service from Seattle will reach 93 departures to 32 destinations on peak days in December, up from 80 departures to 25 destinations today, Delta says.
The carrier expects to operate 120 departures to 35 destinations on peak days next summer.
