Delta's maintenance division Delta TechOps has reached a one-year deal with LAN covering winglet installation and airframe maintenance for a portion of the carrier's Boeing 767 fleet.
"We are the world's largest operator of Boeing 767s, so it stands to reason that our technicians have a great deal of knowledge and expertise with this fleet," says Tony Charaf, president of Delta TechOps. "This partnership helps further establish Delta TechOps as an industry leader for Boeing 767 winglet installations."
Flightglobal's ACAS database shows LAN and its air carrier subsidiaries operate a total of 27 767s, with its LAN Cargo subsidiary operating two of the type.
Earlier this year ATI reported LAN is investing $70 million to retrofit its entire 767 passenger and cargo aircraft fleet with blended winglets before the end of 2010.
