Delta Air Lines froze its pilot furloughs after an arbitrator ruled that overall economic conditions rather than the 2001 terrorist attacks had caused the carrier's difficulties. The arbitrator also said that Delta must begin to recall its 1,060 furloughed Air Line Pilots Association members as its traffic returns to pre-attack levels.
