The UK Defence and Evaluation Agency (DERA) will probably close two of its three engine high-altitude test facilities at Pyestock at the end of Eurojet EJ200 testing in 2002 with the loss of 200 jobs. It says the Ministry of Defence has been main user of the rigs and will have no more use for them. Some associated research cells could also close.
