Data from the extraordinary ditching in New York's Hudson river by a US Airways Airbus A320 has been used by a technical animation specialist to recreate the event and demonstrate the company's software capabilities.
The six-minute animation by Kansas-based K3 Resources brings together flight data, air traffic communications and a detailed landscape to chart the progress of flight US1549 from its departure point, LaGuardia Airport, to its forced ditching after a birdstrike.
All 155 occupants on board the twin-jet survived the accident on 15 January this year. The National Transportation Safety Board has yet to complete its inquiry into the event.
