DHL Airways chief executive John Dasburg has sealed a buy-out deal for the cargo carrier that he hopes will end controversy over the airline's US citizenship status. In a $57 million deal, former Northwest and Burger King chief executive Dasburg has arranged with two US investor partners to purchase all outstanding shares of DHL Airways, which will be run as a private company from 30 June. DHL Airways' US citizenship has been challenged by rival cargo carriers United Parcel Service and FedEx (Flight International 6-12 May).
