DHL Express has introduced the first of six new 59t payload Boeing 767-300Fs on transatlantic flights. The inaugural flight from Leipzig, Germany to New York Kennedy on 23 September was operated by UK-based DHL Air. The aircraft will replace shared capacity of a Boeing MD-11F operated through a joint venture with Lufthansa Cargo. DHL is due to receive all six aircraft by the end of 2012. The company plans to operate one aircraft between Germany and the New York, and a second on flights from Cincinnati to New York with continuing service to East Midlands airport in the UK.
