DHL Worldwide Express is to triple capacity on its Dubai overnight delivery flights with the introduction of two Convair 580 turbo-prop freighters to the route.
Announcing the news at Dubai 2000, DHL's Geoff Kehr says: "The addition of these aircraft to the Dubai route not only greatly increases uplift capacity, but also provides benefits of containerised loading and faster flight times."
Speed
The Convair 580 is the fastest turbo-prop freighter in air express carriage within the Gulf Co-operation Council and the region's only fully containerised air express aircraft.
"This route upgrading is aimed at coping with increasing volumes from the business community in Dubai."
