Hindustan Aeronautics has lifted a grounding order imposed on the Indian armed forces’ Dhruv light helicopter fleets early this year after identifying tail rotor blade defects that led to the crash of an aircraft late last year. The company says two rotor blades from the crashed aircraft had come from an individual batch of “defective hardware”, and that the accident was not related to a design fault.
