Calling all witch doctors! According to our man in Rio, the hunt is on for the services of a "reputable voodoo witch doctor to set things straight" for the locally-operated Fokker 100 fleet after a string of incidents. You may recall the unfortunate tale in Straight & Level of a brace of Brazilian belly-landings. Subsequently a Fokker 100 suffered a windscreen birdstrike five minutes after take-off, forcing it to return. Later the same day, at Sao Paulo's Congonhas airport, three passengers getting off a Fokker 100 were struck by a bus, one fatally. Although quite obviously the aircraft takes no blame for either of these last two incidents the local media is taking quite a different view!
