Aerostructures specialist Vought Aircraft Industries chief executive Tom Risley is to resign on 31 January to be replaced by Elmer Doty, vice-president and general manager of BAE Systems’ Ground Systems division. The departure of Risley, who is to retire on 28 February, was disclosed in a filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. Vought reported pre-tax losses of $214 million for the first nine months of 2005, more than double the $80.1 million loss reported for the same period in 2004. Risley became Vought president and chief executive in January 2002.
