Doubt has been thrown on the future of USAir's alliance with British Airways, following revelations that the US carrier has not yet agreed to hold confidential discussions with BA or American Airlines.
American Airlines boss Bob Crandall revealed in a briefing on 12 June, that both his airline and BA have "proposals" for USAir, but that no talks have taken place. "We have some ideas, but USAir hasn't been willing to receive those on a confidential basis," he says.
