Senior Douglas executives are unimpressed by the report's prediction of their company's disappearance from the world aviation stage.
Noting that the Teal Group had made similar claims in previous research papers, Douglas Aircraft Company president Mike Sears says: "We're headed in the opposite direction from demise," and hints that events later this week will back up his comments.
Fred Hill, senior vice-president, communications and community relations, adds that the Teal Group did not talk to any responsible Douglas official in preparing the report, "which I think is irresponsible."
