Dowty Aerospace has been selected to supply Raisebeck Commercial Air Group with new leading edge slat actuators for the Boeing 727-200 to reduce aircraft noise.
The announcement follows the decision by American Airlines to purchase the Raisebeck Stage 3 Increased Gross Weight System to make 52 of its 78 Boeing 727-200 aircraft compliant with the US Government's Stage 3 noise standards.
Dowty was able to demonstrate its ability to meet American Airlines' production programme for more than 400 actuators, which will be produced at Yakima near Seattle.
