ARINC is to expand its VHF ground station network in the Gulf, building additional installations to supplement those recently activated here in Dubai and in Bahrain. The move reflects growing interest on the part of the region’s airlines in the use of VHF datalink for operational applications.

The company has also just expanded the capacity of its AviNet global ground network with the addition of two new nodes in Dubai. AviNet carries half of the world’s airline operational communications, as well as a major share of the business communications of the aviation and travel industries.

The messaging service recently added to AviNet has proved popular in the Gulf – Dubai-based business aviation service providers Palm Aviation and Hadid International are among the companies that have recently signed up for mailboxes. The Internet-based AviNet Mail offers subscribers reliable access to both Type B networks and email systems from any location in the world.
