Turkish airline SunExpress has signed a five-year, $20 million agreement giving Pratt & Whitney Global Service Partners (GSP) exclusive responsibility for maintaining the PW2037 engines on four Boeing 757-200 aircraft.
GSP was selected “because their proposal was very competitive and transparent”, says Nedim Demirelli, technical director of SunExpress. “Being the OEM of this engine type also contributed in our decision.”
Sun Express is a 50:50 partnership between Turkish Airlines and Lufthansa, launched in 1989. It has bases in Antalya and Izmir and operates a mix of charter and scheduled flights between Europe and the Turkish Mediterranean and Aegean coasts.
