Business jet charter operator Air Charter Service is doing its bit for the environment through a carbon offsetting programme. The company will account for carbon dioxide released in international flights between Dubai and Europe by paying to collect methane gas escaping from abandoned mine shafts in Germany. The programme accounts for 1,543t of CO2 a year. It is administered by the CarbonNeutral Company, which is investing in the Waste Gas Power Project. Captured methane is used to generate electricity.
