AgustaWestland is showing a model of the current production Super Lynx 300 at Dubai, and continues to offer the type to existing customers, and to those with short-term requirements.

The helicopter has already proved popular, thanks to its excellent performance characteristics, with useful hot and high characteristics. The Royal Air Force of Oman uses the aircraft both overwater and overland.

But to customers with longer-term requirements, the company is now promoting the new Future Lynx, originally developed to meet the UK battlefield light utility helicopter (BLUH) and surface combatant maritime rotorcraft (SCMR) requirements.

Metal is now being cut on the first Future Lynx, ahead of the critical design review due in April 2008, and the programme is on track for a first flight in November 2009. The Army variant will fly first.
