An ambitious plan to make Dubai International Airport one of the most technologically advanced in the world is under way by Dnata Airport Services and Mercator, the IT subsidiary of the Emirates Group.

Both have been commissioned by the Dubai Department of Civil Aviation (DCA) to set up an integrated IT infrastructure which will enable Dubai International Airport to cope with a projected three-fold increase in passenger volumes to 30 million by 2015.

Sheikh Ahmed bin Saeed Al Maktoum, president of the Dubai DCA and Emirates chairman says: "Our vision is to have a world-class airport which will sustain Dubai's growth as the aviation hub of the Middle East for years to come."
