Azerbaijan Airlines has revised an agreement for additional Boeing 787s, in a deal which will involve taking five more of the type.
The carrier is also to commit to purchasing two large freighters – although the type has yet to be confirmed.
Azerbaijan had previously committed to four more 787-8s earlier this year, but during the Dubai air show Boeing disclosed details of an order for five which will take its overall 787 fleet to seven.
The carrier will also become the launch customer of a 787 landing-gear exchange programme, linking with Boeing Global Services to obtain lower-cost overhauled undercarriage assemblies for the twinjet.
Boeing says the 787 order amounts to $1.9 billion at catalogue prices.
"The freighter commitment will be finalised at a later time," it adds. Boeing produces freighter versions of the 767, 777 and 747-8.
Azerbaijan Airlines parent AZAL's president, Jahangir Askerov says the additional 787s will "greatly expand" the carrier's capabilities.
