CAE and the Saudi National Company of Aviation (SNCA) are to partner to create a new training centre in the region.
To be located in Dammam, Saudi Arabia, the CAE-run facility will be equipped to train commercial pilots from the Kingdom and elsewhere.
It will be funded by SNCA and operate from a dedicated 40,000m² (431,000ft²) site at Dammam's King Fahad International airport.
"This centre gives us the ability to supply locally trained pilots to our growing regional and global airlines, whilst also providing a highly skilled career opportunity for students," states Othman Al Moutairi, president and chief executive of SNCA.
King Fahad International airport's chief executive Turki Aljawini adds: "We are very proud to host the first flight academy in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia that trains both men and women of Saudi and non-Saudi origin. Bringing this high-quality training to our region is in line with the Kingdom's vision to bring economic growth and create job opportunities."
CAE already operates another training centre in the Middle East in partnership with Dubai-based carrier Emirates Airline.
