The Xian Aircraft MA600 makes its Dubai Airshow debut this year, one of the few times the Chinese turboprop aircraft has been on display outside its home turf.
Potential customers from the Middle East, Africa and central Asia are usually the main focus of the Chinese aerospace industry at the show.
With Chinese arms export agency China National Aero-Technology Import & Export Corporation (CATIC) (stand: W550) responsible for the MA600 in Dubai, instead of commercial aircraft export firm AVIC International, the aim is clearly to secure more military customers for the type.
The MA600's predecessor, the MA60, has been sold to several African air forces as a military transport aircraft.
