Dunlop Equipment comes to Farnborough having achieved a milestone - it has delivered the first production standard high pressure bleed air handling system for the Rolls-Royce Trent 500 engine. The Trent 500 will power the new Airbus A340-500/600 aircraft when they enter service in 2002.Bleed valves are fitted at the intermediate and high pressure compressor stages enabling the engine management system to optimise performance.

For the Trent 500 intermediate pressure stage, Dunlop is supplying four bleed valves controlled by a four solenoid monobloc valve. The high pressure section requires three bleed valves.

The entire range of RB211 and Trent engines, from the earliest which entered service on the Lockheed Tristar in the early î70s, to the current Trent 700 and 800, are fitted with Dunlop bleed and solenoid valves.
