Dunlop Aerospace Equipment (Hall 4, stand F12) has announced a new low-noise bleed valve to replace an earlier design in the IAE V2500 airliner engine.
Ordered by IAE member Rolls-Royce, the poppet-type valve is designed to reduce engine torque when starting and idling by controlling the internal air pressure. It is 3dB quieter than the valve it replaces, and further noise reductions are in development.
Dunlop Aerospace Aftermarket Services (DAAS) has won a second contract from SWISS Air Lines for maintenance of Avro RJ wheels, brakes and tyres. The contract increases the value of DAAS' work for SWISS to about £1 million a year.
