US flight simulator manufacturer DynaLantic is forming a joint venture in the Philippines to provide Bell UH-1H Huey utility helicopter simulator training in the region, starting with the Philippine air force. DynaLantic will own 40% of the joint venture, with Philippine carrier Seair and maintenance firm Dornier Technology (Philippines) to control the remaining stake.

DynaLantic has tried unsuccessfully for years to sell UH-1H simulators to the Philippine air force, but hopes to entice the service to use the simulators at the Dornier Technology Aircrew Training Centre, says DynaLantic vice-president business development Bob Catron. Two UH-1H simulators are due to arrive at Dornier Technology's facility at the former Clark airbase, outside Manila in early March.
