Singapore Technologies Aerospace (ST Aero) and e-business specialist iMerchants are developing a business-to-business (B2B) e-commerce exchange for the Asia-Pacific market, allowing online purchase and sale of aerospace parts and services. IShopAero.com, to be launched in December, will be two-thirds held by ST Aero and one-third owned by iMerchants. SITA has been approved as a certification authority by auditor Deloitte & Touche, allowing the communication specialist to become a "broker of trust" between parties in e-business transactions. SITA will operate a system, based on Entrust Technologies software, to issue and manage digital certificates, such as aircraft maintenance documents for certification authorities. Worldspan and flight-serv.com will jointly market flightserv.com's Private Seats online corporate jet seat booking service. Travel information distributor Worldspan also plans to take a stake in Atlanta, Georgia-based flightserv.com. E-commerce solutions provider NIC Commerce is partnering the US Air Force to provide e-procurement tools for the Air Force Information Technology Superstore, which will list products from at least 30 hardware, software, networking and service contracts. Bridgestone Aircraft Tire has joined the TradeAir.com exchange, offering Bridgestone's new and retread tyres on the B2B site. E-business specialist ICL is developing an e-commerce website for aircraft parts company Source One Source. The site, to be launched this quarter, will let Source One customers place and track orders online for components including flight control, nacelle and actuation parts. Lockheed Martin Information Systems has implemented the use of an electronic delivery form with the US Army Simulation, Training and Instrumentation Command as part of an e-business strategy with the US Department of Defense that began in 1998.
