United Airlines will become the launch carrier customer of internet-based fuel site, American Petroleum Exchange, next month with a 140 million USgal (530 million litres) jet-fuel auction. The exchange, apexchange.com, is the first online site tailored for the refined petroleum industry. Aerospace Hardware Exchange, AHXonline.com, has launched an online marketplace for the buying, selling and management of aerospace hardware such as fasteners, bearings, bushings, electrical and other standard components. The Redondo Beach, California-based exchange is open to all buyers and suppliers, with no membership fees, being paid for, instead, by commission charges on completion of a transaction.
