European aerospace manufacturer EADS says that its results for 2001 will beat its own targets. The full results are due on 18 March, but EADS says revenues last year rose 10% to €30.8 billion ($27 billion), driven by growth in aircraft orders for Airbus, which is 80% owned by EADS and represents most of its revenues. But the company warns that research and development on the planned A380 ultra-large airliner could reduce earnings in 2002 to below 2001 levels. Airbus received 85 A380 orders in 2001.
