EADS makes integration a priority

The new European Aeronautical Defence and Space company (EADS) will make integration of the Franco-German partners' assets the priority rather than embark on new mergers, Jean-Paul Gut, Aerospatiale Matra director of defence, military aircraft and space said at the show yesterday.

But he says that in the long-term, he expects other European aerospace players to join EADS.

He says the merger between DaimlerChrysler Aerospace and Aerospatiale Matra is "logical in industrial terms."
