EADS has set up a Russian subsidiary to develop its links with local manufacturers such as Irkut and Kaskol. The company has not yet decided the responsibilities of the company, which will be headed by Vadim Vlasov, who was previously vice-president of Siemens Medical Solutions in Moscow. EADS has several activities in Russia, including joint marketing of the Beriev Be-200 amphibian with Irkut and Rolls-Royce, the joint engineering centre operated by EADS and the Kaskol Group, and other research, development and manufacturing relationships with Russian aerospace companies.
