The US Air Force is hoping to buy an initial batch of Eagle Vision commercial satellite-imagery ground-stations from Matra CAP Systemes under an offset deal tied to the sale of four Northrop Grumman E-2C Hawkeyes to France. The USAF will finish evaluating a prototype Eagle Vision ground-station in September. The system was built by Matra with funding, from the US Department of Defense foreign comparative testing programme. Field evaluation began in July 1994.
