EVANS & SUTHERLAND (E&S) has received contracts from British Airways and Thomson Training & Simulation (TTS) to supply a total of four commercial flight-simulator visual systems. TTS has ordered ESIG-3350 image-generators for installation on Airbus A330 and Boeing 777 simulators under construction for Thai Airways international.
The order includes E&S' new ESCP-2000 digital projectors. BA has ordered SPX500 image generators for the upgrade of Boeing 737-400 and 747-400 machines from fixed-base to full-flight simulators. Salt Lake City, Utah-based E&S says that the sales take its share of the commercial visual-system market "to over 70%".
