China’s latest Airbus A320 family operator East Star Airlines completed its first commercial flight last week, flying a 128-seat A319 from its Wuhan base to Shenzhen. The airline, which is the country’s fourth private low-cost carrier, will also initially serve Haikou and Guangzhou from its base. East Star’s first aircraft is one of three A319s and seven A320s the airline is leasing from GE Commercial Aviation Services. Last November the airline signed a letter of intent with Airbus for 10 A320s.
