EasyJet has chosen the CFM International CFM56-5 to power the 120 Airbus A319s it announced plans to buy in October, plus 120 options. Based on list prices, the deal would be valued at $1.6 billion if EasyJet were to exercise all its options. The A319 order is subject to finalisation of price guarantees and shareholder approval, expected by early next year, and deliveries are scheduled to begin in September.
