UK budget carrier EasyJet has entered a sale-and-leaseback covering 10 Airbus A319s with powerplant leasing specialist Willis Lease Finance.
The agreement involves aircraft fitted with CFM International CFM56 engines.
Willis Lease Finance says the transaction is intended to provide “tailored” support to the budget airline as it shifts to an A320neo-family fleet.
EasyJet fleet strategy head Chris Essex says it opted for Florida-based Willis because it had the ability to “deliver a comprehensive solution” which “significantly” reduces risks and costs associated with the fleet change.
Willis adds that the agreement “combines elements” of its activities including leasing, trading and asset management.
