Eaton’s extensive involvement includes the design, development and manufacture of the aircraft’s hydraulic power generation package, flap system and landing gear control hydraulic components, and various cockpit controls.
“These new contracts significantly strengthen Eaton’s long-standing business relationship with Embraer, allowing us to provide several key packages for the emerging small jet market,” says Bradley Morton, Eaton vice-president and president – aerospace operations.
The Embraer VLJ can carry up to eight occupants and will be powered by Pratt & Whitney PW617F engines. It is scheduled to entered service in mid-2008.
