China's AVIC 1 Commercial Aircraft Company (ACAC) has chosen Eaton Aerospace to design and supply the integrated cockpit panel assemblies and cockpit lighting controller subsystem for the ARJ-21 (Advanced Regional Jet for the 21st Century).

The deal is worth "in excess of $20 million" for the work on a projected build programme of more than 500 aircraft.

Tao Zhi Lui, ACAC vice-president, commercial, and Mel Drummond, Eaton vice-president, product support and services, signed the agreement at the show.

Lui said that ACAC was now setting its sights on a place in the wider international aerospace scene. "We are now dedicated to the development of global civil aviation industry, taking our advantages from the Chinese civil aviation industry."
