China’s AVIC 1 Commercial Aircraft Company (booth 1331B) has announced that Eaton Corporation (booth 919) is to design and supply the integrated flightdeck panel assemblies and cockpit lighting controllers for its new regional jet, the ARJ21.
The series of integrated panel flightdeck assemblies will feature Eaton’s Nexgen LED illuminated pushbutton switches, mated to edge-lit panels. In addition, Eaton is to design and supply a multi-channel cockpit lighting controller and a toggled and non-illuminated pushbutton switches.
The ARJ21 is projected to have its first flight in 2006, certification by 2007 and first production delivery by 2008. The regional jet will be offered in two passenger versions, a 78- to 85-seat versions and one with 98-105 seats. The production rate is expected to be around 30 a year by. Total deliveries of the ARJ21 are expected to exceed 500 aircraft by 2026.
