Sky Maintenance Services has been appointed as an authorised service centre for AgustaWestland's A109 series, AW109 Power, Grand and GrandNew helicopters.

The company, based in Le Castellet in southern France, is adding a new hangar that will provide maintenance and repair services, as well as holding a spare parts inventory, for the AgustaWestland light twin models, of which around 20 have been sold in France.

Meanwhile, a "full ice protection system" (FIPS) for one of AgustaWestland's medium twin types, the AW319, has been certificated by the US Federal Aviation Administration, following European Aviation Safety Agency certification in February. The manufacturer expects to deliver 12 FIPS-equipped AW139s.
