StandardAero has appointed a new representative to the regional airline and business aviation markets in Russia and the CIS.
Aero Management will represent the Dubai Aerospace Enterprise - owned, US-based MRO provider for business jet airframe, interior and avionics services; GE CF34, Rolls-Royce AE3007, Pratt & Whitney Canada PW100, PT6and Honeywell TFE731 engine services; and Honeywell auxiliary power unitservices.
Aero Management's chief executive Valentine Sushko is a veteran of the Soviet Interstate Aviation Committee, where he held senior positions.
Meanwhile StandardAero has opened a new 930m2 (10,000ft2) facility housing a PW600 engine test cell at its Maryland, Tennessee site. The cell has been sized to allow for potential future testing capabilities on engines producing up to 15,000lb thrust (66kN).
At EBACE 2007 P&WC named StandardAero as the first external PW600 designated overhaul facility.
StandardAero subsidiary Associated Air Center, of which Jack Lawless was named president in April, has achieved US Federal Aviation AdministrationSFAR-88 compliance on its ninth Boeing Business Jet equipped with DeCrane-PATS auxiliary fuel tank systems. The FAA has approved the incorporation of DeCrane-PATS service bulletins as an alternative means of compliance for AD-2008-22-01.
Associated Air Center is scheduled to complete the modifications on seven additional BBJ aircraft before the AD deadline of December 2009.
