Specialist insurance broker FinServe says it is gaining levels of interest in its F-EBAP insurance buying consortium.

Launched last year, the scheme - FinServe European Business Aviation Placement - brings business jet operators together to increase their buying power and cut insurance premiums.

Guy Broddin, chief executive of the Antwerp airport-based company, says it has around 100 aircraft worth a total of $1 billion enrolled in the scheme.

He believes premiums are now at the bottom of the market and set to rise. F-EBAP will mean lower premiums, he says, and also covers damage to third-party aircraft on the ground caused by handling equipment.

"We have been able to prove to new clients that this is more than simply aircraft insurance, it covers all facets of the operation."
