Hawker Beechcraft and Group Lotus have formed an alliance, paving the way for the two luxury high-performance British trademarks to share technological expertise and widen the exposure of both iconic brands.
"Lotus is a perfect partner for Hawker Beechcraft as we both share a long-standing tradition of providing products with ground-breaking design, technical innovation and exceptional quality and performance," said Shawn Vick, Hawker Beechcraft executive vice-president at the show this morning. "This strategic alliance represents an exciting and progressive step forward in both the aviation and motoring markets, allowing our engineers to share knowledge and expertise that will benefit both parties."
To mark the collaboration HBC also announced a tantalising limited offer for potential customers of its turboprop and business jet lines in the Europe, Middle East and Africa region. Between 17 May and 30 June, customers purchasing a new Beechcraft King Air will receive a Lotus Elise sports car for free while new Hawker owners will be given a Lotus Evora.

"This sales promotion gives us the opportunity to create some excitement around our new alliance with Lotus," Vick said. He added that, like HBC, Lotus was the first in its respective field to embrace composite design and it continues to set the standard in motoring technology. "Both brands are also industry leaders in the development of composites, weight reduction and aerodynamics. Technology development meetings between HBC and Lotus engineers will provide an opportunity for sharing expert knowledge and working together on unique technological initiatives."
HBC will accompany the Lotus Renault GP at Formula 1 Grand Prix events over the coming season, including appearances at races in Turkey, Monaco, Germany and the UK, to showcase its range of aircraft to key growth markets in private aviation.
Hawker aircraft will be featured at local airports throughout the race weekends, while prospects and clients will be treated to exclusive events within the Lotus Renault paddock.
