AIRCRAFT NOW JUST A LOCAL CALL AWAY FOR ARINC DIRECT CUSTOMERS
Arinc Direct (stand575)has added a new local dialling option to its ground-to-air telephone service for business aircraft operators based outside the USA.
The service, branded Direct Dial International, allows subscribers to place phone calls directly to their aircraft by dialling a telephone number that is local to them. Previously, customers had to dial a number local to the USA.
Direct Dial International is available immediately to customers in 75 countries and "hundreds of metropolitan areas around the globe, including much of Europe", says Arinc Direct, a Carlyle Group-owned provider of flight planning, weather, flight following, contract fueland international trip support services.
JET PRECISION
Jet Aviation Zurich has installed the first precision navigation system (P-RNAV) into a Cessna 650 Citation III. The 22-year old Cessna 650 underwent an avionics, refurbishment and sound proofing upgrade in addition to the installation of new avionics equipment and the refurbishment of the cabin.
EVAS CONTRACT
EVASWordwide has secured a contract to equip Dassault Falcon Jet's demonstration aircraft with its emergency vision assurance system (EVAS). Dassault currently offers the EVAS cockpit smoke displacement system as an option on new aircraft.
AERO-DIENST SERVICE DEAL
Aero-Dienst (stand 775) has gained German regulatory approval to maintain the Dassault Falcon 7X long-range business jet. French manufacturer Dassault has also appointed Nuremberg-based Aero-Dienst as an authorised service centre for the 7X.
BUCKING THE TREND
The UK's Newquay Cornwall airport and its fixed-based operator Midwest Executive Aviation (stand 391) are reporting a continued increase in business aviation traffic at the airport, despite the economic downturn. Midwest Executive Aviation is reporting a 10% increase in handled traffic for the first quarter of 2009, despite business aviation movements in Europe have declined by around a quarter compared with the same period in 2008.
