Piaggio has appointed P180 Avanti II dealers in the UK and Egypt as it continues to push into new markets for the twin-turboprop.
Farnborough-based Corporate Jet Management (CJM) will represent the Italian airframer in the British Isles, while Alkan Air will be the Avanti's agent in the north African country.
John Bingham, president of Piaggio America, said the company was focused on a series of markets including Australia, Brazil, China, Russia and South Africa. The aircraft has been certificated in Australia and Brazil and Bingham said Piaggio is "well advanced" in terms of finding customers there.
He said Russia was a "tremendous market and we are working towards certification there".
Genoa-based Piaggio expects to build around 15 aircraft this year, including four for its biggest customer, Florida-based fractional Avantair, which has 56 Avantis in its fleet and 46 on order. Last year, Piaggio's output was 12 aircraft.
"The market overall has not recovered, but we are seeing some improvements," said Bingham.
