Townsend Leather (stand 1085) brings a touch of Hollywood glamour to the aviation industry, with its extensive range of leathers on show for aircraft interiors.

Serving the business and commercial industry, from panelling to seat covers and table tops, Townsend produces "customised one of a kind" pieces, serving the high end of the market, says Tim Beckett, senior vice-president international sales.

Advances in embossing, dyeing and chemical treatment means designs are no longer limited to simple variations in texture and colour, straying from the usual dull tones expected when taking to the skies.

In one of its latest ventures, Townsend, alongside Roger Thomas, vice-president design for Wynn Design and Development, have worked to produce the Roger Thomas Collection to give clients a couture-like look for their business jets.

"There's a growing demand for the personal touch in business jets and we can provide customers with exactly what they want," says Beckett.

Townsend also provides leather care products and maintenance solutions to preserve and prolong the life of leather upholstery.

And the Hollywood touch? Away from aircraft, the New York-based company was responsible for the Green Room coverings at the famous Oscars event.
