Lufthansa Technik (LHT) has announced that its Nice in-flight entertainment and cabin management system is now available for retrofit for Bombardier Global and Challenger business jet operators.
Lufthansa Bombardier Aviation Services (LBAS) signed an agreement with its major shareholder LHT at the show to offer Nice installations to its customers in Europe, the Middle East, Africa and the CIS. Nice is fitted as standard to Challenger 300s and is an option for Global business jets.
"This agreement is the fulfilment of a promise given by our shareholders, because it allows us to continuously offer latest technology products and services to our customers," says Andreas Kaden, LBAS managing director.
The Nice retrofit is part of a package offered by LBAS during Dchecks on Challenger and Global aircraft.
Using its Ethernet network cabin functions, the system can control and co-ordinate audio-video and process digital data in private aircraft. Cabin temperature, ventilation, lighting and the on-board entertainment and communications systems can be regulated using a remote control unit located in the seat, or a wireless touch screen.
At the show, LHT is presenting several new features for Nice, including an improved wireless controller. The handheld touchscreen device now features a coloured graphical user interface. Also on display is LHT's high-definition 3-D moving map system Niceview.
