The European Commission has come down hard on SAS and Maersk Air for illegal market-sharing practices on routes from Denmark. After a year-long investigation, the EC has fined SAS €39.4 million and Maersk €13.1 million for a secret deal that saw the carriers agreeing not to compete on each other's routes from Copenhagen and Billund. SAS said it "deeply regretted" the infringement, but is considering whether to appeal against the level of the fine.
