Eurocopter has received European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) certification for its EC225 medium-twin helicopter. The newest member of the Super Puma family has a new five-blade main rotor, a reinforced main gearbox and 2,100hp (1,565kW) Turbomeca Makila 2A engines.
Eurocopter says the approval initially covers an operating envelope with a maximum altitude of 20,000ft (6,000m) and temperatures between -15¡C (5¡F) and +40¡C.

The US government has blacklisted more private companies over alleged connections to the training of Chinese military aviators, including two firms operated by former test pilots in the UK Royal Air Force and South African air force.
